| Jul. 4th, 2009 09:46 am Evony There are ads for this all over facebook.
as far as I can tell it is a civ building game about houses and fields and such. Where is the large breasted woman on the ads coming into it then? 1 comment - Leave a comment

| Jul. 4th, 2009 08:29 am Four Hours Sleep But that's it for me as despite ensuring the curtains were drawn to keep it dark,
THE ORANGE LODGE JUST MARCHED UP MY STREET. WITH THEIR BAND OF DRUMMERS AND FLUTE PLAYERS.
For those not familiar ewith this bastion of protestant purity some choice quotes from wiki:- (bold mine)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"In the period from 1964 to 2002, 11% of those expelled from the order were expelled for their presence at a Catholic religious event such as a baptism, service or funeral"
The contribution of women to the Orange Order is recognised in the song "Ladies Orange Lodges O!". (There is so much wrong with that concept I can't even begin)
and my favourite:-
on 24 March 2007 more than 12,000 Orangemen were bussed in from around the UK, including Northern Ireland, England, and Wales, to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Act of Union 1707 and marched through Edinburgh's Royal Mile. This culminated in a rally where its leaders urged members to vote against independence at the forthcoming Holyrood election. The effect of this advice is debatable as the SNP experienced a 10% increase in their vote in the 3rd May 2007 Scottish Parliament elections.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So. I am not on a traditional marching route, what with THE ROAD NOT BEING BUILT UNTIL 10 YEARS AGO.
there were about 100 (including obligatory kids who are too young to understand the twaddle they are marching for)
And 6 policemen. Way to waste my council tax.
Well, it's a clear warning to stay in today.
Sometimes I am glad to be moving. Racist, sectarian, mindless old men, bredding the next generation of haters.
Or am I cranky because of the time...?

| Jul. 1st, 2009 12:39 pm Not really organised It looks like, if the bank cam get their finger out, I can move out of my place last week in July, and into new place first week in August. Both of which clash with when I can get time off work but I am sure I can squeeze in a couple of days in the office each week.
So, bank nagging ahoy tomorrow (that's given them a week to fix stuff)
Have therefore booked into hotel for Friday - Sun of Satellite2 as will need a quiet space :-) (even tho it is just up the road from the house)
Have not managed to *actually register* yet as unable to locate cheque book. Wah! Want automated booking! Will just have to pay extra fiver on the door. Leave a comment

Jun. 17th, 2009 08:47 pm Writer's Block: Conversion Rate
I have yet to find a religion (including "non mainstream" pagan, heathen, wicca, e tc etc) that did not cause pain or extreme wank to people I care about.
So regardless of probability of a God, earth mother, great white whale of the ocean, spam fritter overlord, aetheism for me. Because a) science and b) worship through wank does not do it for me.

| Jun. 13th, 2009 11:39 am Anti Virus for the Intransigent My parents are on dial up. will not contemplate broadband. Are in telecomms blackspot so can't even get them onto a dongle. My head/ brick wall :-)
for years dad has run AVG but the download sizes for patches seem to be scuppering him and i am going to have to go fix things.
any suggestions for dial up friendly AVs? Dont mind paying (I don't that is; he won't..) as long as it means it doesn't take an hour for every patch... 6 comments - Leave a comment

| Jun. 5th, 2009 08:40 pm More Astonomy Guesses; Have I got this right? 1. The 10th Galaxy is any cluster is about as bright as the 10th galaxy in any other cluster. (Seems like a pretty big supposition to me!)
2. The spectrum form all galaxies is probably made up of all the same elements as ours
Hmm. Can't wait for faster inter stellar travel to confirm some of this, it's all a bit vague for me to want to call it 'science' at the moment. Philosophy, I could live with. 2 comments - Leave a comment

| May. 29th, 2009 08:34 am More vegetarian confusion When did gelatine become "hydrolysed collagen"?
Clearly *sounds* meaty but totally missed it on the label. That's a load of snacks off to my carniverous mates house then. Was only breakfast bars, too!

| May. 20th, 2009 11:18 am I like my bank Despite horror stories of lloyds et al taking six weeks to approve loans, my bank got valuation done in three days and everything approved. And called to tell me I'd get a lower rate if I could borrow 200 less. Go Professionalism! Leave a comment | |

| May. 19th, 2009 09:34 am passive agressive secret note rant! Dear person,
Enough already! It's well over a year. I am fed up of your whining! Try real life, it'll take your mind off the paranoia in your head.

| May. 16th, 2009 12:50 pm and that's how to confirmmy prejudices! In supermarket today, bag packing wasx courtesy of a local church group for 8 - 12 year old boys. Who they send on the orange march every year.
I asked for no bag packing as there is no way I am contributing.
I got a very snotty 'suit yourself' and glowered at.
Don't care. 3 comments - Leave a comment
